The Real Opening Day

Yeah, so Ryan Zimmerman hit a game winning home run in tonight’s BS opening game for ESPN. Who cares? How boring was George Bush in the broadcast booth? Oh, and I really can’t stand John and Joe. The Nats stadium looks a whole lot like Fenway Park, doesn’t it? With the green walls in the outfield.

Enough of that. The real opening day is just a few long hours away. Baseball will officially be back and that means it’s the start of another season of pride, joy, nail biting and, ultimately, winning in New York.

Let’s go Mets! Oh, and to that other team in NY, good luck.

Damion Easley shops at Wal Mart

Not that there’s anything wrong with that, because, you know, I was there too. It was just odd to see Dame walking out of the store in Port St. Lucie. He probably had to get a toothbrush or something. He was cool, though - he acknowledged my “whattup Dame!”

This was right after Scoobs and I threw the ball around on Tradition field. We just walked right onto the field and started playing as if it were a playground. Good times in Florida.

Opening day is less than 2 weeks away. Let’s get this party started!

Mets Close in on Deal with Twins for Santana

I didn’t think this would happen, but it looks like it’s going to be it. They give up Gomez, Mulvey, Humber and Guerra.

Not bad if you’re a Mets fan. Not bad at all.

David Wright On The Daily Show

David Wright of the NY Mets was on the Halloween edition of the Daily Show w/ Jon Stewart discussing “The Collapse” and Arod. Great line from Jon “He (Arod) seems like bad medicine. He seems like a very good player. But when he gets on the team, its like he weakens the team. He’s like the Dick Cheney of baseball.”

Torre to the Mets?

Hey, I’m all for Joe Torre coming to the Mets as a bench coach or 1st/3rd base coach. That might even help bring Mel Stottlemyre back to Shea as the pitching coach - because Rick Peterson needs to go. Of course, this is just all wishful thinking and I’d doubt that the Mets would pay so much to have an all star coaching staff, but it’s still a thought.

On another note, I was Google searching Mel Stottlemyre (honestly because I didn’t know how to spell his last name), when I came across this image. WTF?
