People Are Losers
by kingkala on Nov.23, 2007, under whatever
Ok, being the curious scientist that I am, I decided to perform an experiment. I went past my local Best Buy and wanted to see how people lined up in 35-degree at midnight would react to antagonism directed towards them. Turns out – not well. All I did was call some people losers and give some the finger – it was a similar reaction in general – mostly profanities directed at me, and some toward my mother, and she wasn’t even there. But the one thing that really chapped my ass – some bitch had a baby out there in a stroller. Just chillin out in the freezing cold. I wanted to push her buttons and said, “Bitch go home and take care of your baby!” Her 300 pound husband didn’t appreciate that. It was at that point I realized that my experiment had to end, before my life did.
Black Friday Deals & Tips

UPDATE 3:45PM: Home Depot – 20% off, kinda. You spend $50, you get $10 back instantly. Pretty good deal.
I bought the Dynex 32″ LCD HDTV from Best Buy for $449. Not sure if I’ll keep it yet, though. I went at 11am or so and they had plenty of stuff. The best deal I saw was a 50″ Samsung Plasma for $1299.

Best Buy seems to be the best retail place for electronics on Black Friday – and for only one reason: no mail in rebates. I hate those things and so does Best Buy. They decided to get rid of them altogether, from what I’m told.
Here’s a Black Friday tip: take advantage of price guarantees. Some stores offer 110% guarantees (Circuit City, for instance). So, just take that ad for the $399 Element LCD HDTV at Best Buy (because you know they’ll be sold out) to a competitor that will match the price – and you’re all set.
But, you can avoid all of that hassle altogether and just shop online. My favorite sites for online shopping: Amazon.com (Black Friday Specials here), Overstock.com, and dealsea.com for getting pointed in the right direction.
Happy Shopping and Happy Thanksgiving!
Jay Z and other Rappers Hate The Greenback
by malik on Nov.19, 2007, under whatever

Pay attention as you watch the catchy new music video from the mega-star rapster Jay-Z, “Blue Magic”, and see if you can’t spot the product placement. It is not a fancy car that he is endorsing – although both his rides, a Rolls- Royce and soft-top Bentley, are plenty spiffy – but rather a currency – and it is not the dollar.
Like so many in the hip-hop genre, the song is a celebration of ostentatious wealth. But capturing the attention of commentators in this clip, shot in the glimmering, neon-lit canyons of New York City, are the repeated glimpses of flickering wads of €500 notes. Jay-Z has thus performed a currency defection: the dollar is not just down, it is out. The euro is the new bling.
First you have supermodels dissin’ the dollar and now the hip hop community has jumped on board. Next on Hova’s to-do list: Put down that Budweiser and pick up a Labatt Blue.
Maaaaaannn……

72 fucking hours, and 40 stores later, and I still can’t get a Wii. Wtf, man. Look, I ain’t one of those losers who goes and camps out in front of Circuit City at 6am, waiting for a 10am opening, so I can be that 400 pound cow who runs over people on her way in because she has to get the first 70 burgers of the daysystem. Fuck, I hate fat people.

I tried to make sweet love to my HD Receiver last night. The picture quality is simple amazing. So good I almost watched a minute of Ghost Whisperer. You know what they say, once you go Hi-Def, you don’t go back go F’N crazy.
