Third Party Apps for the iPhone

Steve Jobs is ready to let you touch his….iPhone and iTouch. Here’s an excerpt from the breaking news on the Apple News site:
Let me just say it: We want native third party applications on the iPhone, and we plan to have an SDK in developers’ hands in February.
Here’s an idea for an app for the iPhone: transform it into a device that works on the Verizon network. Yeah, I’d like that.

Here’s a cool little blog-type thing that Google’s Blogger released. It’s just a stream of all of the images that are being posted on Blogger. Since you can live-post images onto Blogger from various mobile devices, it makes it pretty cool to see. Somehow, it seems like a rip off of flickr, but hey, that’s what the web is all about, isn’t it?
Verizon’s iPhone Attempt – The LG Voyager

Verizon will be releasing the Voyager from LG for the holidays this year. It’s kinda ok. No built in memory, but room for an 8GB memory card. Nice touchscreen, but not as big as the iPhone’s. A full qwerty keyboard as part of a clamshell design and VCast TV, if you’re into that kinda thing. Looks ok. Here’s a link to infosyncworld.com – they have some good pics.

Windows Live Writer

I just downloaded and installed Windows Live Writer – a stand-alone application that lets you edit your blog offline. It integrated into bobbysketch.com without a problem and seems to have a nice interface for editing posts and images. I was even ale to drag and drop a URL into a post – spiffy!
