Last week might have been my cholestrol-crazed, burger week of the summer. I hitup the Shack with the BS boys on Thursday night and had a shackburger and frozen custard with hot fudge. Then on Saturday night, we went classy at BLT, which is growing on my list of favorite burgers. I’ll post that list one day. Then, last night, I was hangin’ with the Doc and the Fireman and we BBQ’ed up some tasty burgers. I actually had two. So basically, I had 4 burgers in the past 4 days. Man, I need to get in shape.

Well, sort of. The local ABC station reports that Magnolia Bakery closed down for some health code violations but will probably reopen on Thursday.

Magnolia is known for their overpriced but damn delicious cupcakes. It’s been mentioned on Sex and the City and the SNL short “Lazy Sunday”. Here’s the video.

After all the BBQing and stomach stuffing from the holiday, I had to top it off with the best: a shackburger. Scoobs and I hitup the Shack late yesterday afternoon with threatening clouds overhead. We managed to chow down on some burgers (shackburger for me, shack stack for scoobs). It was quite an uncomfortable experience this time around. Not just the humid weather, but also the bird that decided to crap on me. I didn’t let it spoil my meal, just wiped the doo doo from my arm and grubbed on the burger. Afterwards, I got some vanilla custard with hot fudge and chocolate chunks – heavenly. It’s doo doo baby!

I’ve been slacking on the shackburger count, but not the shackburgers themselves. In fact, this “count” proves that I can’t count at all. Apparently, I went from 6 to 8, so to make up for that, I’m stepping back one. Here’s shackburgers 8, 9 & 10. I hate math.

I had a couple of shackburgers a week or so ago (8 & 9). It was after a softball game and the Doc came through to meet up afterwards. I was hungry, so I got two. No fries. The Doc hadn’t had one since last year, so he made the trip out to NYC from way out in Stony Brook. Nice.

Earlier this week, I had another one. I’ve been averaging about one a week, I’d say. Not bad, right? Scoobs wanted to hitup the Shack yesterday, but I told him I was already good for the week….and then said maybe we can go on Friday. Sheeit. Gotta give the heart a break, right?

Before heading out of town for the weekend, I had to grab a burger at the shack. Always a great start to the weekend. On a side note, I had a burger from Pauls (on St. Marks and 2nd ave.) and it was frickin’ awesome too. Different kind of burger, but still good stuff. On my way to heart failure.
