Rangers Treat Orioles Like Their Bitch

by scoobs on Aug.23, 2007, under sports

Last night the Texas Rangers just destroyed the Baltimore Orioles in the first game of a double header 30-3.  Texas became the first team to score that many runs in over fricking century.  It seemed like a regular blowout game going into the eighth inning with the score 14-3 and then Texas just exploded for 10 runs and then 6 more in the ninth.  Former Atlanta Brave Jarrod Saltamacchia and Ramon Vasquez, the bottom two batters went a combined 8-12, 9 runs and 14 rbis.  On the pitching side, Daniel Cabrera went 5 innings giving up 6 runs.  Then Brian Burress goes 2/3 of inning giving up ridiculous 8 runs.  Rob Bell relieves him and does a little better by going 1 1/3 of inning and giving up 7 runs.  And finally Paul Shuey pitches the final two innings giving up 9.  Now, in most blowout games there are a couple of unearned runs due to errors but every damn run was earned.  How stupid is that?  Oh yeah, Wes Littleton of the Rangers gets a save by pitching the final three innings even though they won by 27 runs.

One thing I expected was some sort of bench clearing brawl.  But not one of the 252 pitches thrown by an Orioles pitcher last night hit a Texas Ranger.  What kind of garbage team is Baltimore?  You’re getting spanked on your home field and you do nothing?  I understand that they have a double header but you gotta plunk someone for all this abuse.

According to Variety,  Heroes has landed Kristen Bell for their second season.  It’s a major coup for the show since Kristen has been linked to several other projects since the cancellation of Veronica Mars.  Lost was a major player for her talents but Kristen chose Heroes instead.  Variety has this synopsis of her role, “She’ll play Elle, a character described as a sexy, mysterious young lady who has ties to the supposed death of Peter, H.R.G.’s past and the future of Claire. Elle will kick off her arc by committing a serious crime, though it’s unclear whether she’s good or bad.”   Looks like she’ll be a major player in the Heroes mythos.

Dickheads: Judge Roy Pearson

by scoobs on Aug.15, 2007, under whatever

pearson

You may remember the infamous case where a judge sued his dry cleaners for 67 million dollars for losing his pants. Well, he lost the case several weeks ago and was ordered to pay the defendant’s legal fees. But the dickhead is appealing the judgment even after the Chungs (the defendants) decided not to seek the payment of their legal fees. The Chungs want nothing more than put this farce behind them. Pearson on the other hand will probably continue his fight against sanity.
