Leo Mazzone is Available

by bobby on Oct.12, 2007, under sports

Leo MazzoneI need to see Leo rocking next to Willie next season. It doesn’t seem like a great fit, but it sure would make me feel good about our pitching staff. Bottom line is this: Omar, put your right hand on Rick Peterson’s shoulder, point the hand out and say “you’re fired.”
Here’s a link to the story on mlb.com. The story of Leo Mazzone and the Orioles parting ways.

This Weekend: We Own The Night

by bobby on Oct.11, 2007, under movies

Eva Mendes, Mark Wahlberg, Joaquin Phoenix and Robert Duvall star in this crime thriller based in late 1980′s Brooklyn. I don’t know if I’ll get a chance to watch “We Own the Night” this weekend, but I am looking forward to checking this flick out soon. Mostly because Joaquin Phoenix is frickin awesome. I had decided that I wanted to watch this movie about 15 seconds into the trailer. Just because JP looks badass. Or maybe because he reminds me of an uncle I used to hang out with in the 80′s.

Torre to the Mets?

by bobby on Oct.10, 2007, under sports

2006-09-27-torre.jpgHey, I’m all for Joe Torre coming to the Mets as a bench coach or 1st/3rd base coach. That might even help bring Mel Stottlemyre back to Shea as the pitching coach – because Rick Peterson needs to go. Of course, this is just all wishful thinking and I’d doubt that the Mets would pay so much to have an all star coaching staff, but it’s still a thought.

On another note, I was Google searching Mel Stottlemyre (honestly because I didn’t know how to spell his last name), when I came across this image. WTF?

How I Met Your Mother

by bobby on Oct.09, 2007, under tv

Somehow, I ended up watching this show on TV last night while waiting for Heroes to come on. I don’t even remember what channel it was on, but I have to say, it was quite entertaining. Maybe it’s because the whole episode was focused on a guy trying to score with two girls at the same time (or ride the tricycle as they called it on the show). Anyway, Neil Patrick Harris is on the show, as well as Alyson Hannigan (the band-camp girl from American Pie). I might have to check it out again next Monday.
