Review: Silverchair – Straight Lines

Today marks the release of Silverchair’s latest album in the US, Young Modern. You might remember these Australian rocker kids from the early 90′s when they were still in High School and released frogstomp, an album recorded in 9 days. The summer is more than half over and I’m on pace to have at least 20 shackburgers. I guess that’s not terrible, right? I remembered to get it well done on Friday and it was fantastic. Malik and Scoobs joined in on the festivities and so did Po Po #1 and Po Po #2. I always love the impromptu gatherings. Happy rainy Monday, NYC!
Amy Winehouse is Classy

Page Six reports that Amy Winehouse forgot the lyrics to her music and then, in frustration, shot a loogie at the crowd during a show in England recently. Amy is almost as trashy as Britney Spears, just with a little more rage, a British accent and musical talent. Wait, that makes her nothing like Britney Spears.
Review: Mad Men

If it wasn’t for Amy Winehouse, I probably would not have given Mad Men a chance. While I was reading the Wall Street Journal, Amy Winehouse’s “You Know I’m No Good” played during the promo for Mad Men. It took my attention away from the newspaper for a few minutes and I decided to give it a shot. Mad Men has been receiving a lot of rave reviews, but it might be a show that will take some time to grow on you. Luckily, I wasn’t disappointed. (continue reading…)
