Masi Oka aka Hiro Nakamura on the Loop

by scoobs on May.22, 2007, under tv

If you’re having Heroes withdrawal, here’s a clip of Masi Oka on the Fox show, The Loop. In this clip , Masi is speaking Mandarin. Although he is Japanese, his Mandarin is actually better than James Hong (he played the host of the Chinese restaurant in the classic Seinfeld Episode “The Restaurant”) who IS Chinese. Ah.. Hollywood casting at it’s best.

How Heroes Should Have Ended

by lostofficehero on May.22, 2007, under tv

Since the finale sucked so bad, I am going to come up with my own ending. I encourage you to do the same.

-Make the finale 2 hours long neo smith
-Show us that Peter met Nikki a long time ago and Peter absorbed her powers. As a result, Sylar was actually Peter’s alter-ego (a la Jessica)
-See Fight Club for how alter ego’s fight each other
-See Matrix Reloaded (or any of the Matrix films) for how heroes with superpowers fight each other

Peter and Sylar face off, Sylar is kicking his ass, but as the other Heroes gather around, Peter is gaining more power from them. The other Heroes join in on the fight against Sylar, but he’s too strong. Peter is also turning more nuclear as the fight ensues. It gets to the point where all of the other Heroes are injured and left scattered about (some dead) but Peter and Sylar are still going at it (using mental powers, time travel, invsibility, increased speed, sight and hearing abilities, you name it). Finally, Peter does a Neo and flies into Sylar’s body (this makes sense because Sylar is really Peter’s alter ego, right?), runs through his veins, flies into outer space, travels back in time and explodes – emerging from the explosion stronger than ever. This is where the continuity between season one and season two comes into play. The eclipse shown in 1671 is actually Peter causing Sylar to explode in outer space.

New York City is saved. The world is saved. Some Heroes die, but everyone ends up happy. Meanwhile, Nathan gets setup as next season’s villian. How, you might ask? Well, he’s already setup as a politician who was going to do the wrong thing. Just show him at the end shaking his head and uttering words to the tune of “You will pay for this, Peter Parker Petrelli.”

The End.

Heroes Bombs

heroes

Was I the only one who was disappointed with the Heroes finale last night? It had so much potential and it came together so poorly. They should have hired a star movie director to work on that episode. For the first 45 minutes, the heroes just are running around and then finally, they come together for the last 10 minutes and, well, they watch. They just stood there and watched Peter and Sylar do nothing. WTF? Heroes aren’t bystanders!!! It should have been an all out battle, a war of the worlds, a brawl. Instead, it was more lame than even I could have made it.

It seems as if they were more interested in setting things up for next season. Ugh.

shackburger count: 6

by lostofficehero on May.21, 2007, under grub

It’s been a while. I seem to be doing much better in terms of not going as often as I used to. Maybe it’s the conscious effort to not give myself a heart-attack at the age of 28. Nonetheless, I did hit up the Shake Shack today and had my Shackburger. I forgot to ask for it to be well done and so I didn’t enjoy it as much as I could have. My friend also noticed that it’s just not as good as it used to be. It’s not just me!
