Lost Recap: Through The Looking Glass

by lostofficehero on May.24, 2007, under tv

Ben and Jack step aside to have a talk. Ben tries to convince Jack that Naomi is one of the bad guys (or girls). He wants the satellite phone. Jack refuses. Ben tells Tommy on the radio to kill Bernard Jin and Sayid in one minute if he isn’t told otherwise. He gives Jack one minute to get the phone. In that minute, Ben tries to convince Jack that the Island is better than his previous life. Jack had no one, no wife, no father, and his job at the hospital sucked. He was a drunk and was miserable. We’re reminded of all this through the flashbacks that are being shown in this episode. Jack hears all this, but doesn’t give up the phone. A minute goes by and we hear shots over the walkie and then silence. Ben apologizes to Jack, tries to run the guilt trip on him, and this is when Jack attacks Ben and beats the hell out of him. After doing so, Jack picks up the walkie and tells Tommy that he’s going to rescue his people and then come back and kill Tommy. Wow. Jack grew some big balls.

Mikhail finds his patch and puts it back on, it was in his pocket all along! Looks like Patchie is ready for some action. He goes to kill the two girls as Ben asked him to do. He kills the first one and she ends up in the water, he puts a bullet in the second one and Desmond comes out of hiding (the closet?) and shoots Mikhail with a bow gun of some sort. As the girl is about to die, a free Charlie manages to convince her to give him the code to stop the radio scrambler. She decides to tell him that it was programmed by a musician who coded the tune of the numbers to match the song “Good Vibrations” by the Beach Boys. Charlie was perfect for this job and it looks like Desmond’s vision is coming to fruition. Does that mean Charlie is really going to die?

Alex, who had accompanied Ben on his journey to meet the Lost Parade, finally meets her mother. Ben introduces them as he is laying on the ground beat to a pulp. Danielle’s first words to her long lost daughter: “you better help me tie him (Ben) up.” Good moment nonetheless.

You think the show’s been great so far? There’s plenty more. This is when the show really kicks into gear.
