Lost Recap: Through The Looking Glass
May 24, 2007 – 12:34 am by lostofficeheroSawyer finally musters up some personality and tells Jack that he’s going back to the beach. He and Kate get into it again, because she wants to go too, but Sawyer won’t let her. Juliette goes with Sawyer instead; because she claims to know where to get some guns on the way back to the beach (I guess they have a local gun shop on the Island). She and Jack kiss before they break. Yes, they kissed. On the lips. Kate sees this, I wonder if she’s jealous? As they walk for a short stretch Sawyer asks Juliette “so you’re screwin’ Jack?” I love it! Hurley catches up to them and says that he wants to go back with them. Sawyer does what Charlie did: tells him that he’s too fat and he’ll be in the way. Nice.
Since this finale was the mother of all finales, Lost was going to leave no stone unturned.
Locke is alive in the ditch! His legs seem to be paralyzed again. He finds the gun that Ben shot him with and decides to put himself out of his misery. Then, as he’s about to pull the trigger, Walt?! Yes, Walt. It’s not a typo. Walt, the kid who left the Island with his dad Michael, the kid who the Others stole and was a huge part of the rescue of season two, shows up out of nowhere and prevents Locke from shooting himself. Walt tells him to get out of the ditch. That he has work to do. WTF?! Where the hell did Walt come from?? This must be Locke’s magic box at work again. It’s the Island talking to him. Telling him that he’s got work to do. John Locke does have a special connection with the Island. Question is, does this mean that Walt is dead? Or did he get off the Island?
Jack tries to explain to Kate why Sawyer didn’t want her to go back to the beach with him. He says that Sawyer is trying to protect her; just like Jack tried to protect her when he asked her to not come back for him. She asks him why he is sticking up for Sawyer and Jack says simply “because I love you.” That might have been the weakest “I love you” on TV ever, but it worked. Maybe we’re not supposed to believe him? Anyway, we flash back to Jack listening to Nirvana (I think) in his Jeep, driving in the hoods of LA. He’s headed to a funeral parlor. He goes in and it’s empty, as in there are no guests. A man tells him that nobody showed up for the viewing and asks Jack if he’s friend or family of the deceased. Neither. Who’s in the coffin? Will we ever find out?
The Lost Parade is an hour away from the radio tower and that’s where Ben (with Alex) cuts them off. Here’s the showdown we’ve all been waiting for: Ben vs. Jack. And it begins with “Hello Jack, we need to talk.”
