Lost Recap: Through The Looking Glass

Before I begin this recap, I have to get some orgasmic raving out of the way. This is what a season finale should be. Lost lived up to all of my expectations. In fact, it exceeded all of my expectations. This episode was gripping, full of answers and completely shocking. This might have been the greatest two hours in television history. The writers of Lost did the unthinkable. You will not believe what happens. I still can’t believe it. Read on, my dears.
The episode starts off with a Jack flashback. He’s in a plane, he’s bearded (looks a little like Jacob) and drunk. There’s some turbulence, he asks for another drink and the Air Hostess refuses to give him one. It’s a flight to Los Angeles. He sees a newspaper and something catches his attention. We cut to him driving an old SUV in Los Angeles. He gets to a bridge and looks at the paper he clipped on the plane. It must have been an obituary. Was it his father? Jack is suicidal. He stops his SUV, gets out and climbs onto the ledge. He’s about to jump off when an accident happens behind him.
In the first five minutes of the show, Lost has already trumped the Heroes finale. Anyway, back at the beach, the Losties are starting their parade. Sayid, Jin and Bernard are staying behind to be the marksmen who blow up the tents when the Others come to take the ladies away. It’s quite emotional when Jin and Sun break away from each other. The same with Rose and Bernard. Sayid makes sure he’s clear with Jack as to what the plan is. It’s time.
Meanwhile, Charlie is getting his ass kicked by the chicks in the Looking Glass. We learn that they are also Ben’s puppets and that no one else knew about them. Not even Ben’s people.
Fast forward a little bit and the Others have made it to the beach to take the women away. They realize too late that it’s a trap. Actually, some of them never did realize that it was a trap because they got “blown to hell.” Bernard and Sayid blew up their two tents and killed seven of them. Jin missed his tent in the several shots he took. This had it’s consequences. The Others’ survivors captured Jin, Sayid and Bernard and tied them up as hostages. It looks like the Losties are in trouble as Tommy, the leader of the Others’ kidnappers, is in communication with Ben via walkie-talkie.
Back to Jack’s flashback. His ex-wife comes to visit him in the hospital. Apparently, Jack saved the woman and the child in the car accident that happened when he was about to jump off the bridge. He explains the car accident to his ex-wife and it turns out that the only reason she showed up was because she was still his emergency contact. She’s pregnant. She leaves him, again. This must be at least the third time this has happened? She looks good, though. She keeps asking him if he’s been drinking. Has Jack drunk any on the Island? Maybe his alcoholism has been cured?
