Overpriced Good Burger: BLT
by lostofficehero on Apr.28, 2007, under grub
The boys and I hitup Bistro Laurent Tourondel Burger last night. It’s located at 470 6th ave (between 11th & 12th)….right next to Ricky’s. Malik had read the review in Time Out NY, so we figured we’d check it out and see if the burger lives up to the hype: it didn’t. The barometer for all burger experiences is the Shake Shack, and the Classic Burger at BLT (5oz., lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, mayo, ketchup on a pretty ordinary bun) was good, but not terribly memorable. I had high expectations because I read that the meat was a combination of sirloin, short rib, chuck and brisket, but with all the condiments and the relatively small patty, I didn’t taste the meat all that much. Couple that with the fact that is was $9 (although I got the combo with fries and a soda for $14) and it was quite disappointing. We also has an order of the (overpriced) wings, we got half BBQ and half Buffalo – they were meaty, and I personally liked the Buffalo style better, but again, nothing memorable. What was memorable was the fantastic Chocolate Mud Pie a la Mode – it was fantastic. The pie was so rich, I felt like I needed a glass of milk, but the vanilla Ice Cream took care of that.
Overall, I’d say that I will probably go back and try the BLT Burger, which is a larger version of the Classic. Maybe that will give me more taste…but nothing will make up for the fact that it’s an $11 burger and…it’s not a Shackburger.
Rave: 520 West Chelsea
by malik on Apr.27, 2007, under whatever

When you’re a big time baller like myself, who has recently been promoted from Assistant Head Cashier to Associate Head Cashier at Fatburger, you have to go all out. Located a few blocks away from my old High School, 520 West Chelsea will detour those young impressionable ladies to me.
You may be asking yourself, how can someone on a modest food industry gig afford an ass-magnate pad like that? Easy, I own five hundred shares of Berk-Hath son!
Review: Spider Man 3 – Spidey Goes Emo
by lostofficehero on Apr.27, 2007, under movies
You know you’re going to watch it regardless of what I say in this review. Spiderman 3 will be a huge blockbuster and make tons of money. I was lucky enough to score passes to a screening of it last night, so here’s my review, without spoilers.
The movie starts out very ghey. It ends very ghey. It’s ok in between. There’s nothing more you need to know.
OK, jump for the rest…you know the deal.
Lost Recap: D.O.C.
by lostofficehero on Apr.26, 2007, under tv
Lost is officially back on the map, no irony intended. You know that it’s a good show when you feel like you got punched in the stomach after the episode ends. This episode delivered punch after punch. First punch was the one eyed monster (aka Patchy) stumbling into the Desmond, Charlie, Jin, Hugo parade. Yes, the same dude who we all thought died a gruesome death when John Locke (wtf? where’s John Locke?) pushed him into the magnetic field force thingie. The three Losties and Desmond were trying to save Naomi’s life – she had been stabbed by a tree branch when she fell out of the sky when he popped up out of nowhere. Well not nowhere, Hugo had fired a flare gun accidentally. It turns out that Patchy was a medic for the Soviet Army and he offered to help, if the crew would let him go and not mention his livelihood to anyone. He saved her, I think, but he also lied to them about what she was saying. He claimed that she was speaking Italian and that he could understand her. She was speaking Portuguese and he had no idea what she was saying. I wonder what he was up to. Maybe he didn’t save her, but injected her with some kind of drug?
Meanwhile, Sun finds out about Juliet’s mission on the island. Juliet uses this to get Sun to take a sonogram and together, they find out that the baby was conceived on the island (DOC = Date Of Conception). This confirms that Jin really is the father (unless she slept with someone else on the Island), and it’s not the bald dude that she was banging back in Korea. Juliet also mentions that men have a 5 times higher sperm count on the Island than off it. She must have gotten around quite a bit. I always thought magnetic fields were bad for Willie?

Lost Recap: Coming Soon
by lostofficehero on Apr.26, 2007, under tv
I was too damn tired last night to watch Lost….so I’ll check it out on abc.com today and post a review this evening. I hate you 10pm time slot. I wish an ugly death onto American Idol bercause it’s the whole reason why Lost got moved to 10pm.
BTW, has there been an episode of Lost where Sayer hasn’t said “Son of a bitch”? It’s like they have to include that in every episode. Just an observation.
